I feel Australians are exotic to the rest of the world and thus interesting, so I’ve made it my purpose to document our everyday life. These photos are a selection of people I’ve encountered in malls; those who have had the particular “magic” to attract my attention.
Sometimes I get a feeling from a person when I see them that makes me approach and photograph them. It’s the reality of my experience, my vanishing act; the subjects are all looking at me, but I’m not there.
