Rimar: "Tonight / Mornings Into Forever"

The talented Brooklynite's new EP channels Ecco The Dolphin but still manages to be great.

Everyone knows that Ecco The Dolphin is the worst video game of all time, and that it inspired the shortest lived genre of all time, but it turns out Rimar's so talented he can make a track that sounds like both these things and still not drown in the seapunk ghetto.

The gifted Brooklynite is back with a new EP called Closer, his first release since signing to Bella Union.

On Closer, Rimar leaves behind the shot-slamming party tunes of his Higher Ground EP for a far more nuanced sound. Here's the first cut from his new record, "Tonight: Mornings Into Forever", which sounds like a really accomplished take on the Ecco soundtrack, but laced with creepy vocal loops rather than those annoying squawks that fucking animal let out every time he got stung by a jellyfish.
