Sydney's vibe might seem a little bleak with those lock out laws and the constant threat of having your favourite venue replaced by a high rise apartment block. But those in the know will tell you that life is still good—in defiance of everything, the party is still going on if you know where to look.

Case in point: VICE is having a party. We've teamed up with Bacardi for a free night of music and debauchery that celebrates everything worth experiencing in the Sydney scene right now, Mike Baird be damned. Following a huge night in Brisbane, House of Bacardi is setting up harbourside to bring all of your favourite DJs together, and prove that the city's heyday is far from over.

Part house party, part club night, House of Bacardi is supporting local nightlife— handing the reins to area music experts Goodgod, One Day and House of Mince. We've given each of them a room to curate with tunes, and the lineups are as diverse as you'd expect.

Goodgod's "Greenroom" will have a tropical twist, House of Mince's "Zeitgeist" promises darkness, strobes, leather, chains and techno, and One Day is taking their daytime party "Lituation" into the night. We didn't want to be left out, so VICE is presenting our own room too—featuring DJs Champian Lyf. As you navigate the party, look out for Jimmy Sing, Marcus King, Luen, Dusty Fingers, Phile (LIVE), Jon Watts, Ben Drayto, Jayteehazard (Elefant Traks), and more.

King's Cross ain't what it used to be—but maybe, if you do your duty and get down with the local musicians who are doing it tough—it can be something better. House of Bacardi Sydney begins from 8pm on Thursday, November 17— RSVP here.
