LONDON - ALL OF LAST WEEK'S PARTIES

See below for photos of people having fun at the Fabric birthday party, the Matthew Stone party at the Hannah Barry Gallery, and Push at the LA2.

Fabric's birthday party kicked the weekend off on Friday night. Some people took it upon themselves to dress up.

Others got so excited they started literally swinging from the rafters.

It all got a bit confusing as only one out of every three people was your common Friday night guy, the other two would be things like a Jawa sandwoman or a cross dressing Gogol Bordello fan.

Why is it that as soon as someone sees a camera with a flash they feel the need to wag their head around like one of those lolling dogs you see on the parcel shelf of elderly Maccelsfield couple's Ford Mondeo?

There were slightly terrifying Lycra clad harpies hugging the walls at the Matthew Stone party at some squatted warehouse or other in Peckham later that evening.

Halfway through the night a metal vat arrived. It was sawn open and inside was a fairy from a Nordic forest. Everyone was happy.

Our friend Guy hired two identical twin body guards to keep tune requesters at bay while he DJs.

Every squat you go to in South London there are always all these trolleys everywhere. No one really knows why. You'd have thought that what with the whole not paying any rent and not doing anything all day thing they would all be able to find the time to carry their shoplifted grocery's home but no. It's all: "steal that trolley too Moonstar, it'll come in handy at the squat!".

Rodaidh and Guy played weird but amazing disco music that no one else knew but everyone loved. As usual.

OK so we were wrong about the whole shopping trolley thing. Pretty handy after all.

After all that some people still had the energy to nip back up North to Islington and go hang out at Twee as Fuck the monthly party for people who have complete Aztec Camera 7" collections. The Good Gods! kicked off the night.

His and hers hair cuts were a big look.

Since the smoking ban all the girls seem to spend most of the night standing in the smoking areas looking like elfin godesses we want to eat on toast for breakfast.

The Lord and Lady of the Black Lake were in town for one night of fun.

Mathew Swayer & The Ghosts played too.

The Shoreditch Sugababes smoldered in a corner all night.

This guy had come all the way from Abersoch and was so stoked to be there he just kept doing two thumbs up all night. It got a little old after time ten.

Hey look it's Comet Gain!

One of the guys from our editorial team was looking after Push at the LA2 on Saturday so that was the place everyone ended up. Your party aint shit unless Max is there stumbling around like he just stepped out of

Brideshead Revisited

.

Push went to the trouble of hiring some totally amazing crazy people to stand around and make everyones photos less dull.

Alice had just triumphed in a dance off against some guys in the main room who looked like a crack Backstreet Boys backing troupe. She was pretty happy.

Some of the world's best DJs were at work in the renovated cage. It has lost some of it's charm since being repaired.

M.C. Escher trousers are a must if you plan on being in the background of every photo taken in an evening.

Coming dressed as a Solpadeine is good look if you have great legs to pull the whole thing together.

It definitely was not cold enough to warrant a hat like this. These are only OK if you are Dev or the girl above.

When you make all the effort to dress up nice, and you even buy flowers, being told to fuck off can be a real tear jerker.

Look how happy this guy is. He might actually be about to burst.

Alax from Tapedeck was there. He has a new band called A Grave With No Name and they played with Deerhunter the other night so he was in a pretty good mood about that.

Sometimes when you're sweating so much that you feel like you've just walked through a carwash you find yourself getting jealous of bald guys.

The Bloods sent over one of their pretty-white-guy representatives. Despite first impressions and like the unsuspecting Brother Muzone in

The Wire

he is rumored to be the most dangerous of all LA gang members.
