Sugary cereal, granola bars, Pop-Tarts, yogurt—all great ways to start the day in a hurry, but also the bane of the savory breakfast lover’s existence. If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, then it should be exactly what you want it to be. For some, that means it should be heavier on the umami than the tooth-achingly sweet. We pulled together a few of our favorite savory breakfasts to save you from an empty stomach and a trip to the dentist. If you’re also the kind of anti-morning person who rolls out of bed with five minutes to spare, we suggest making up some big batches of these at night and keeping them ready to go in the fridge.
