Being a full-blooded Italian, I feel like I am slightly biased when I say: Italians are the best at everything in the world ever. Cooking? Obviously, the best. Being in the mafia? The best at that too. Making love? Oh, fuggedaboutit! (That’s how we Italian Americans say “forget about it” because we are also the best at language.) Well according to the Sensibles’ new album, we Italians are also the best at making power pop.
The Milan four-piece has just put out a new album A Bunch of Animals via Eccentric Pop Records that’s a weird mixture of quirky and fun. And even if you don’t speak the wonderful language that is Italian, don’t worry, the Sensibles sing in English, although sometimes their inflections reflect that they’re not native speakers, but that’s sort of the charm, like when your Nonna asks if you ate yet.
