Listen to “Block 4,” the Latest from Orlando Rapper Kim

Orlando artist Kim has shown a talent for weaving through different flows as well as for coasting between melodies and tightly wound rap bars on past cuts like “Ali” and “Let Me Pray.” His latest song, “Block 4,” (the title plays on the lyric “what you all on my block for?”) continues that streak, with the added bonus of a truly dazzling, tongue-twisting cameo from Baltimore’s King Los, who discusses “high tide at the yacht dock” and declares he’s “like Popeye because I like guap or green or spinach or whatever you call it.”

Meanwhile, Kim, the “ghetto Evanescence” paints a vivid world, switching from the straightforward rap of the first verse into a more epic, melodic tone for the final verse, where he quips, “we came back to the future my throne is Delorean.” Premiered on Noisey Radio on Beats 1 over the weekend, “Block 4” can now be streamed below. It’s a single from Kim’s forthcoming Seeking Forever EP, due in February.
