Emotions will get you stuck in some weird places. Toronto R&B singer Liza’s latest single “Here To Stay” is a dreamy slow jam about getting messed up in a mind prison made of feelings. Her last project, the February 29 EP racked up tens of thousands of streams, an impressive feat for the relatively new artist. Since then, we’ve been eagerly awaiting more. The new song, produced by CVRE, shows Liza isn’t slowing down on her quest break us open with Good Soul Music. “No matter how you push, I’m here to stay,” Liza sings.
In a written statement to Noisey, Liza pleased us immensely by hinting at more forthcoming projects and videos. As for “Here To Stay,” she said, “I wrote this song as a way to process what was happening in one of the most important relationships in my life. Sometimes I feel like I live in the past because of my attachment to certain feelings or memories that I don’t want to let go of.” Listen to Liza’s “Here To Stay” below:
