Lorna Simpson is known for confronting and challenging conventional views of gender, identity, culture, history and memory. In this series of photographic collages, Simpson mixes found photographs and images from historical issues of Ebony magazine. Her most recent work will be shown at a solo exhibition at Salon 94, New York in September 2016.
