With a blended palette of dusty azures and smoky charcoals, Georgina Ryland leaves room for the moonlight in her blown-out body art of a starry night featuring the storied Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry. The Australian makeup artist leaves no spectator guessing at the the paint strokes in the creation of her masterfully blended portrait, either: in an Instagram timelapse video, the entire painting process is documented from outlining sketchings, to applying the opaquely painted, limitless night sky.

In a caption on Instagram, Ryland notes that painting the full piece took around five hours to complete. For this particular “painterly sort of style,” she explains, Ryland used a speed-paint method that dramatically reduced the overall time to finish, as well as producing a stellar effect, a detailed yet deft timelapse spectacle.

The professional makeup artist and prosthetics crafter has reached into every realm of the fantasy universe in order to practice new techniques and create her original visual stories. From painting a whale shark to replicating the intense yellow-eyed stare of a wild tiger, Ryland lives in a different world by applying her fantasies directly to her skin.

Ryland holds a degree in Cinemagraphic Makeup from the Australian Academy of Cinemagraphic Makeup, which also served as impetus to professionally pursue makeup artistry and venture into special effects design for Ryland.

Take a look at the makeup professional’s Harry Potter-themed body art below, followed by many other instances of her intricate maquillage work:
