Indonesia Hit With Diphtheria Outbreak
Indonesia is trying to contain the spread of Diphtheria, a rare disease commonly found in children that can lead to breathing difficulties, heart failure, and paralysis. So far, 11 provinces across the country have reported unusually high number of cases of the disease. Since January 2017, there have been 613 reported cases of Diphtheria, with 32 fatalities. The government kicked off a vaccination campaign yesterday, which will provide rounds of free immunization to people in Jakarta, Banten, and West Java. —Katadata/ The Seattle Times

Malaysia Police Arrests Suspected Indonesian Terrorist
An Indonesian has been arrested in Malaysia for allegedly being involved in the pressure cooker bomb explosion in Bandung earlier this year. Tito Karnavian, Indonesia's Chief Police, said that he is working with the Malaysian police to bring back the alleged terrorist to Indonesian soil.
