The New Museum is now accepting applications to NEW INC, the first museum-led incubator for art, tech, and design.
“Visionary creative practitioners” who make the grade will gain 24/7 access to 8,000 feet of dedicated workspace in a building adjacent to the New Museum at 231 Bowery. Members will be encouraged to collaborate with their fellow artists and the building’s anchor tenants such as Studio-X, Rhizome, and IDEAS CITY. Over the course of a twelve-month residency, artists will also benefit from NEW INC-planned events and professional development programs.

Members will be selected by Julia Kaganskiy, NEW INC’s Director (and founding Editor of The Creators Project), Karen Wong, Heather Corcoran, Executive Director of Rhizome, David Benjamin, Director of Studio-X New York, and Lauren Cornell, Curator of the New Museum 2015 Triennial, Digital Projects, and Museum as Hub.
They’re looking for creators who “embrace risk, investigate what has yet to be discovered or defined, and engage with today’s most provocative issues and ideas.” We will wait with bated breath to see who makes the cut.
NEW INC will be accepting and reviewing submissions on a rolling admissions-basis, from now through April 1, 2014. For more details, see the website, here.
