A Year of Lil Wayne: "Poppin'" feat. Curren$y

Everyone had to make one of these, and Wayne's wasn't that good. But it was weird!

Day 141: "Poppin'" feat. Curren$y – No Ceilings 2, 2015

Remember that three month period when everyone had to make a "Poppin'" freestyle? Whatever happened to that dude Rico Richie? That was weird. Anyway, this is one of the few occasions historically that Wayne hopped on the beat that everyone wanted to freestyle over and didn't do anything impressive with it (although Curren$y goes the fuck off, bragging about stunting on blocks you can't even go down).

However, Wayne does do one thing that is worth commenting on here, which is his insane Auto-Tune warble of the name of the mixtape at the very beginning of the song. It's so goddamn weird. Every artist should try to make something that sounds so absolutely strange at some point in their career.
