Macro Motion Film Undone Has Fun With Shape And Color

Artist SCNTFC films the goings-on of the worlds we cannot see, making for stunning footage.

Macro photography allows us a fascinating glimpse into a world that’s usually the preserve of scientists and laboratories, where strange bodies jostle around in minuscule landscapes. Because of the dynamic interplay that occurs between these colourful shapes, they make great material for videos and films. Artist C. Andrew Rohrmann (aka SCNTFC) has taken full advantage of these captivating forms for his series Undone, “a film about the beginning and the end of everything.” It hasn’t been released just yet, but we’ve seen two trailers, and from the looks of them, it seems like it’ll be a mesmerizing experience as bubbling forms explode and collide in a graceful, vivid dance. The first trailer, embedded below, was released a few months back.

The dramatic music that accompanies the trailers is called “Burn A Pale Fire.” It was written as a collaboration between Morgan Kuhli and SCNTFC himself, proving that Rohrmann is just as adept at music as he is at visuals. So it’s worth mentioning his awesome remix of Bob Dylan’s “Masters of War” for the video game Crackdown 2, which you can listen to below. A folk protest song from the 1960s might not be the most obvious choice for a remix perhaps, but SCNTFC’s version gives a jolting electronic update to this classic track.
