5 Songs You'll Hear at London Block Party

Get amped for the two day event with this five-track playlist.

It's the first week of September, which means classes, homework, and an exorbitant explosion of partying and alcohol consumption. University of Western Ontario students are no strangers to any of the above, especially the latter two, and as such they will be pleased to know that this year's London Block Party has been extended to two days. From September 6th to 7th, London Music Hall will host the likes of Kaskade, Martin Garrix, MAKJ, and more, as the downtown core is transformed into a full on dance party. We're not sure if we should be excited or terrified… Ok, it might be a little bit of both. Put simply, this is the biggest party London, Ontario has ever seen.

Those of you looking to get the pre-game started a little early are in luck, because we've compiled a list of five songs to expect at London Block Party. Kick-start the school year in style and grab your tickets here.

1. Kaskade – "Summer Nights (Original Mix)"

When it comes to giant-sized, feel-good electronic dance music, few, if any, are even in the same stratosphere as Ryan Raddon. His newest release, "Summer," is a hot and hypnotizing house tune that feels like the perfect sendoff to the season. Its driving bassline and nostalgia-inducing vibe will make you want to grab your loved ones close, and it should serve as a perfect counterpart to Kaskade's massive big room mashups.

2. Dimitri Vegas, Moguai & Like Mike - "Body Talk (Mammoth) feat. Julian Perretta (Extended Mix)"

One of the biggest club anthems and festival fixtures of last year just got a little facelift courtesy of vocalist Julian Perretta. While old-school dance fans will probably cry foul over the blatant repackaging and obvious cash-grab, the song still has an irresistible main stage appeal and is certain to be a crowd pleaser this weekend.

3. DubVision - "Backlash (Martin Garrix Edit)"

The Notorious GRX may have become the best thing since sliced bread with his 2013 breakout original single "Animals," but the 18-year-old Dutch sensation is far from a one-trick pony. During his set on Saturday you can expect to witness a ton of energy, some hard-hitting drops, and a slew of unreleased productions, including collaborations from Hardwell, Tiesto, and Ed Sheeran.

4. Deorro vs. MAKJ – "READY! (Original Mix)"

No balls-to-the-wall party would be complete without the inclusion of bad boy MAKJ. He's gone on record countless times saying how much he loves to throw it down in the Great White North, and this Melbourne Bounce-inspired track is ample proof that things are going to get a little wild and crazy at LBP. 5. Pierce Fulton – "Kuaga"

New England producer Pierce Fulton may not have quite the same level of popularity as some of the names up above, but he sure as hell isn't short on talent. His most recent release, "Kuaga," is a euphoric electro house number that oozes with emotional resonance. In stark contrast to other party anthems, this evocative piece is sure to leave you with a lasting impression. Don't miss his set this weekend.
