American Hero Alex Rodriguez Walks, Sets in Motion Epic Ejection

Alex Rodriguez drew a walk against the Mariners and two men melted down and were ejected, including manager Lloyd McClendon. He is a hero.

In the third inning against the Mariners last night, eternal flame in even our darkest hour Alex Rodriguez drew a walk with two outs and a man on second. Mariners catcher Mike Zunino foolishly assumed A-Rod had swung at the 3-2 pitch and asked for an appeal from the first base umpire. That appeal was justly denied and Zunino took issue. For his brazen disregard of not only the rules of baseball but A-Rod's Divine Right to first base, Zunino was tossed.

His manager Lloyd Mclendon then came running out to dispute everything to do with the play and did so by getting in the first base umpire's face, tossing his own hat in disgust, kicking that same hat, getting in the home plate ump's face, and then trotting out to third base to give that ump a piece of his mind, too. McClendon was obviously ejected, but at least he didn't steal any of the bases this time.

The Yankees beat Seattle 5-3.
