In the MUNCHIES Guide to Christmas in Berlin, our host Michel Niknafs meets different characters around the city and explores their personal ways of celebrating the world of Christmas. From the contemporary young techno kids and the rich, quirky West Berliners to the earnest citizens of East Berlin, Michel will get a 360-degree insight into the many different definitions of a Christmas holiday in the bustling German city. In our opening installment, Michel spends a day with Simon and Tobias of the techno DJ and producer team andhim. First, they bake cookies and decorate them in festive colors—German-style. Next, they go sledding and ice-skating, and get gemütlich at a local Christmas market. Finally, the boys visit an aprés-ski hut, where they take a thorough look into the kitchen to watch their favorite Christmas dishes get prepared—and then it’s time to nom nom nom.
