Chef’s Night Out: Mile End Delicatessen

For this episode, we head to Mile End Delicatessen to sample their interpretation of Montreal-style Jewish deli cuisine. Then owners Noah Bernamoff and Rae Cohen, business partner Max Levine, chef Sam Fillaramo, and the generalissimo of their commisary, Michael Stokes, go to the LES for a tour of New York’s great Jewish food institutions. The first stop is Russ & Daughters for caviar, eggs, and a little herring. After that, it’s off to Sammy’s Roumanian Steak House for dancing, gorging, and a massive amount of vodka shots.
