Maybe you haven't heard of Torbjörn Axelman, but he's a bit of a Swedish renaissance man. Director, actor, screenwriter, poet, producer, artist; these are just a few of the titles this guy has carried over the years. And now he can add attempted murderer to that list.Lee Hazelwood used to spend a lot of time in Sweden, and Torbjörn was the dude who shot him (with a film camera) most of the time. As a director he is perhaps best known for "Nancy and Lee in Las Vegas," a sentimental slice of Vegas cheese but perfectly pleasant, featuring ol' blue eyes's daughter. But it seems his notoriety will be eclipsed by this full on bonkers shootout he just had.
What happened was, the landlord of Torbjörn's house in Gotland (the Hamptons of Sweden) was coming to do some renovations to the house. This didn't sit too well with Torbjörn, who, as the renovation crew was leaving his house without having been able to enter, shot his landlord three times in the back.
A Swedish specialty swat team was then flown in from Stockholm and found three people cowering on a balcony, and the wounded man still lying on the ground.
Torbjörn went down blazing, firing his handgun at the cops as they took him out, shooting him three times.
He's still hanging on as we speak, but it's pretty crazy to think that a guy who spent his whole life creating would lose it like this. Then again it might just lead to a comeback. Betcha 5 bucks it does.LEE JEEP
