Man Abandons Truck In Traffic To Take Selfie With The Rock

It was adorable, and also dangerous. Adorably dangerous.

"This dude stopped his truck in the middle of the street," begins Dwayne Johnson, before laughing incredulously at the situation at hand.

Here is a fan—one that, as of this writing, remains nameless and anonymous—who, upon noticing that The Rock was in the lane directly to his left while waiting out red light, abandons his tow truck in the middle of traffic to snag a selfie with the man whom he describes as his "greatest hero of all time."

What does one do in this situation? If you're The Rock, your recourse is to take a photo with the man, while also expressing concern on two occasions that the fan will be hit by a car.

It's a genuinely delightful video. From the second the fan enters the frame on stage left, panting like a labradoodle, it is very obvious that we are witnessing one of the greatest moments in a person's life. I do not say this lightly: The non-verbals alone are so over-the-top giddy that the whole thing borders on an SNL parody. It's a rare instance of social media delivering something too pure for cynicism to creep in. And, for Johnson, it's a great interaction with one of the millions - and millions - of The Rock's fans.
