There's a shiny new skate plaza in Tribeca and it's a hell of a lot better than the wooden nightmare that used to be in the same spot. It's only 8,750 square feet, but there's a lot of crafty California style obstacles crammed into the small space. It's on Pier 25, just down the highway from the Pier 62 skatepark. Yes, that is North Moore Street and as far west as you can go without drowning.I ran into my all time favorites, Billy Rohan, Kevin Tierney, and Black Dave, as well as underground ripper, Stefan Martinez. I also had a few words with Rob Campbell, who helped build the joint, about what it was like to pour the concrete for the place.TAJI AMEEN
