Here's a catchy little kick in the gonads to get your hump day started. The Black Lips just released their video for "Raw Meat," and we can already tell it's going to be another one of those days where you can hear muffled Arabia Mountain tracks oozing out from everyone's headphones all day.Despite its authentic 1970s wardrobe, the subject of the video, directed by Phil Pinto and produced by Rachelyn Remz-Porter, is depressingly relevant in light of recent Occupy Wall Street events. The Black Lips play four New York City beat cops with broken moral compasses on a late-night shift, terrorizing citizens and fraternizing with loose women while hauling ass around the city with their guns drawn. The video also features Leo Fitzpatrick of Kids, The Wire, and last year's Halloween Pop Vox fame as an Irishman who can't stop getting fucked by cops, as well as model Janell Shirtcliff, and actress/The Like drummer Tennessee Thomas. The widescreen black and white cinematography, combined with the sharp audio (hat tip Mark Ronson) chucks this little number safely onto the top rack of our all-time favorite music video shelf. You can watch the video up top there, and if for some unfathomable reason you haven't already bought Arabia Mountain, you can do that here. Also, if you happen to be in Miami next month for all the artsy goings on, the Black Lips are playing a show at Grand Central on December 1.
