LONDON - PICKLED FISH AND THE CREPES

I'm considering a move to Sweden. It's got awesome public services, impressively clean streets, myriad different kinds of delicious pickled fish and a left-leaning progressive government. Sure, they have a bit of a weird situation with buying booze (you can only get wine and spirits from state-run alcohol shops that are open no later than 6 PM), but it might not be a bad idea to be organized about getting drunk.

But the main motivation to head for the land of the midnight sun is that there's simply too much great music to mention. But I will mention the Crepes, an ace new act that comprises members of Balearic disco blisstronica duo Studio and melancholic electronic indie pop outfit The Embassy. Their Spanish guitar picking and 60s vocals may be a lot more straightforward than their other outfits, but they maintain the air of celebratory melancholia that made those other bands so great.
