To ring in the New Year, I hit up Soho's snow-covered streets with Mark Gonzales. Whether he's on a bike or a skateboard, the Gonz shreds like no other. This week, I was privileged to shoot a video of him skating and to ask him some questions about his life.VICE: What's it like riding around New York City in the winter?
Mark Gonzales: It's fun. Sometimes I like it better than the humid, hot shit. It sucks when your skateboard or bike wheels sink into the ugly, black pothole-fixer junk. Slipping on the ice ain't good either.What are your favorite places to skate?
Anywhere. In winter the park is out of the question. Well, I've never really attempted to skate in the park during winter, but I would guess it's out of the question.Where are your favorite places to hang out?
It depends on what I am up too, and that varies from day to day.What skateboards have you been riding lately?
