One week ago today, we brought you air, the color-changing capsule collection from London multidisciplinary design studio, THE UNSEEN. Using a combination of "magick," the same proprietary ink that imbued their fabric with its wind-reactive, "multi-sensory chromic color change" abilities, and 4,000 Swarovski spinel crystals, The Unseen have debuted a wearable-tech headpiece that shifts its chroma in response to brain activity.

"We discovered the pattern formation in the color of each stones evolves throughout the day; this fluctuates over areas of the brain in use," explains Lauren Bowker, founder and principal designer at THE UNSEEN. "When worn, the headpiece becomes a reflection of the inner human thought. This parallel makes the gemstone compatible with the human, enabling each stone when worn to act as a conduction insulator, absorbing energy loss from the head."With the ability to color-change through blacks, blues, greens, oranges, reds, and violets, it's not the first time we've seen alchemical investigations permeate high fashion, but it makes us wonder what color a 2.0 version of Daisy Buchanan's headpiece might turn, when faced with all those beautiful shirts.
