Today: Get Lost in Samara Golden’s Silver Staircase at MoMA PS1

Another week has finally gone by, and summer is dwindling quickly. For the first Warm Up of August, MoMA PS1 is hosting Moritz von Oswald, Atom™, New York, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Jlin, Dorian Concept, and Rabit. Sure it’s hot as hell outside, but that shouldn’t hold you back from also checking out Samara Golden’s exhibit, The Flat Side of the Knife. This massive installation is meant for exploring a “sixth dimension” where time overlaps.

Golden previously talked to The Creators Project about her disorienting and emotional work, saying, “Another way of looking at it is that I often favor certain points of view in my installations. Sometimes I see these the elements in the ‘view’ like a composition in a painting. If you think about the work that way, then the guitars can be a compositional element, almost like a stroke of paint, an anchor in the composition, or something that is necessary to hold the visual plane.”
