Holy Twisted Techno Batman, It's Marco Violent's Freaky New EP 'Violent Legacy!'

Of course, there's more to dance music than conceptualist IDM and high-brow minimal techno. Sometimes the most effective tracks are the willfully dumb, throwaway japes that revel in their own inconsequential silliness. From French g-house label CUFF comes Marco Violent's "Batman Rave," which is one such floorfiller.

A bit freaky, a bit cheeky, but deceptively well put together, the opening track to Violent's new three track EP is like The Horrorist meets Roy Lichtenstein. And not for nothing, any tune that uses as its lead bassline a riff on Batman chase music is alright in our books. Laugh, it's supposed to be funny.
