Justice, Juan MacLean, Koreless, Art of Flight And More Join The Creators Project NYC Line-Up

It’s hard to believe that our line-up could get any more awesome, but it did.

In case Florence + the Machine, Four Tet and The Field weren’t enough for you, we’ve just added a bunch more DJ performances and special guests to our Creators Project New York event in DUMBO next weekend. The one we’re probably most excited for is the triumphant return of Justice, who will be playing their first NYC DJ set in two years (it’s been almost three years since their last NYC performance) in anticipation of their upcoming album release on October 25, out on Ed Banger / Because / Elektra / VICE.

The long-awaited sophomore LP Audio, Video, Disco from the Parisian duo of Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé sees the pair straying from their dance music roots in favor of a more rock-based musical vocabulary. Fans already got a brief taste of their new prog-rock inspired sound with the single “Civilization” (below), and we wonder if this new auditory aesthetic will be reflected in the tunes they spin next Saturday night. Be sure to stop by, as it’s their only performance in anticipation of the new album, but in the meantime, check out the Audio, Video, Disco mini mix from Ed Banger Records featuring snippets from the album’s 11 new tracks to give you an idea of what lies in store.

“Civilization,” directed by Creator Edouard Salier, who will be screening a selection of short films at our Creators Project NY event.

We’ve also got DJ sets from Juan MacLean, one of the most notorious artists on the DFA roster, as well as Nic Thorburn from the beloved indie-pop band Islands, and the electronic duo The Golden Filter. What’s more, the multi-media powerhouse that is electronic musician/VJ Nosaj Thing will have a special guest appearance from Glasgow-based producer Koreless.

To cap it all off, we’ll also be screening Art of Flight, the latest daredevil snowboarding action sports film from Brain Farm and pro-boarder Travis Rice (produced by Red Bull Media House). Once again, director Curt Morgan shows us that HD cinematography plus stunning aerial shots of remote, rugged locations and masterful snowboarding produce awe-inspiring results.

These additions, on top of our already killer line-up, makes this event one of the biggest ones we’ve done to date. Be sure to RSVP to the NY event in order to catch these and more performances, screenings, art installations and panels. The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required and all events are subject to venue capacity. See you in DUMBO!
