Compton Chic and GHOST Come Together on “Dreams”

Montreal’s most respected tastemakers have come together to create a beautiful electronic ballad.

To say Montreal's music scene has seen some growth over the past year or two would be a serious understatement. As the credibility of the young Canadian scene grows more and more, talented artists are starting to rise making a mark on our typically over saturated radars. Two of Montreal's most respected tastemakers, Booty Bakery's Compton Chic and Prince Club's Max Gendron (producing under the pseudonym GHOST), have come together to create a mysteriously beautiful electronic ballad that has anyone in the know chomping at the bit.

Although the track won't be released for a couple more weeks, the visual realization directed by stylist Sara Graorac, is a dreamy Asiatic trip that highlights Compton Chic's elegant yet avant-garde style. Compton Chic borrows the chorus of the track from none other than Fleetwood Mac's 1977 hit song "Dreams" and although she didn't change the name of the song she introduces powerful original lyrics to fill in GHOST's forward thinking production. "Dreams" is a true highlight of Montreal music as both Compton Chic and GHOST work together to integrate the sounds of deep house and cloud trap to create a love ballad that will surely excite you.
