Brian Westbrook Tries To Save Gov. Chris Christie From Eagles Fans

Governor Chris Christie is trying really hard to make his voters forget he is a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Just over four months ago, New Jersey's larger-than-life Governor, Chris Christie, was flown out to Dallas by sugar daddy Jerry Jones to watch his beloved Cowboys take on his constituents' Philadelphia Eagles. This is a day Philly fans in South Jersey won't soon—or ever—forget. Christie knows that his football loyalty, which rivals the loyalty of his voters, will haunt him for the remainder of his days, so it is not surprising that when summoned to speak at the opening of a Bass Pro Shops in Atlantic City—the most honorable of all governing duties—he brought former Eagles running back Brian Westbrook as back up.

But recruiting a has-been player to lead an E-A-G-L-E-S chant isn't going to heal New Jersey's wounds of betrayal, especially since Eagles fans have already suffered so much this off season, although I'm sure they, like myself, got a kick out of Christie admitting he is the only thing standing between them and a warehouse full of fishing supplies. Just another huge obstacle for Eagles fans—and the general public—to overcome.
