Stream an Exclusive Track from Ryan Elliott's New Fabric Mix

Check out Borrowed Identity's "LFI" taken from the Panorama Bar resident's forthcoming Fabric 88.

Ryan Elliott is a DJ who straddles worlds. Born just outside of Detroit, and currently living in Berlin, he's effectively a one man network system of top-tier tech-house, a human router tethering into musical connections on both sides of the Atlantic. And it's probably because of that—along with his releases on Ostgut Ton, and the fact that he became a resident at Berghain/Panorama Bar—that the wise sods at fabric asked him to smash through 24 house and techno records for the latest instalment of their mix series.

Not content with releasing a great tech-house mix—fabric 88 is out on June 17th—the creative sorts over at fabric HQ have put together an intriguingly arty short film to accompany the mix, which you can watch right here. There's chain link fences! White jeans! Gold chains! A bloke who looks a bit like Darin Daze! Banging, clanking, churning techno! I want to see a feature length cut of this immediately!

And if that wasn't enough, Ryan and the guys at fabric have kindly let us present you lucky readers with an exclusive stream of Borrowed Identity's "LFI" taken from the mix. A seriously tough roller, it's got us VERY EXCITED about the mix's release. Basically it sounds like an old Cajmere record thrown into a cement mixer, and we hope the whole thing is similarly clattering. Check out the track and a very quick chat with Ryan below.

THUMP: Hey Ryan! Now, getting to put together a mix for Fabric is pretty much what anyone who's ever pulled off an even halfway decent mix is living for. How did you celebrate when they asked you to take the reins?
Ryan Elliott: I was very excited when Fabric asked me to contribute to their mix series! I immediately started thinking about what I wanted it to sound like and how the mix would be.

Can you tell us a little about your mix and who it's for and where we should listen to it?
My mix is for anyone who wants to hear a good techno and house mix. I think it works well while listening at home or on headphones while your on the train, in a car, or going for a run!

What's your favourite ever fabric mix? And why'd you love it so much?
My favourite Fabric mix has always been Craig Richards' Fabric 01 mix. I remember it had such an impact on me, I must have listened to it hundreds of times over the years.
