How to Make Sure You’re Always Ready to Party

Here’s 5 pro-tips.

The best parties always fall into place. You're sat at work on a Friday afternoon, about to settle into a food-coma for the rest of the afternoon, when you receive a text. Twelve hours later and you've somehow traversed opposing ends of the Central Line, been to at least two venues, and are trailing along with a gaggle of friends, new, old, and some with names that you can't remember.

However, not everyone has a natural partying instinct. It can be difficult to get the timing and techinique right. So, for those who are looking to have a better time on a night out, here are a few tips to ensure you're always ready to go and stay out until the sun comes up.

Travel light

Until the day that you're able to absorb objects into your being, Grand Theft Auto style, then things are every party-goers enemy. Every object, gadget, or piece of expensive jewellery that you carry is one too many – and bound to get lost. Before you leave the house, take a moment to review everything you're planning to take with you by applying the following criteria: party-related usability (maximum score for party blowers, minimum score for wristwatches), weight, and cool-factor. Only pack the stuff that scores well in each category. And under no circumstance should you bring a bag.

Wear something fun

The key to success is finding a balance between comfortable and idiotic. A neon-green morph-suit is too far-along the moron-meter. Sweat-pants, on the other hand, are maybe too far on the I AM SO READY TO GO HOME RIGHT NOW, side of the scale. Everyone has their own unique style –make sure you're wearing something that shows you off. Do you!

Choose your friends wisely

If you want to be consumed by the night, then make sure you have the right people around you. The worst night-out is when everyone is on a different page; you're on a mission to have the best night possible and everyone else wants a quiet drink. You want a group of friends – a team, almost – that will work together to ensure that the night is the BEST EVER.

Be open

No one likes a closed person. You should be outgoing when you're out – act like Jim Carey in "Yes Man" by saying yes to every plan that gets presented. Want to head back to an after-party that's two night-buses away? Why not? Go and do it!

Your body is a temple

And you can light it on fire whenever you like. But once you've finished partying a few key things to remember are: eat well, drink lots of water, and get some sleep! Do that for a few days and you'll be ready for the weekend again in no time.
