Diddy Was Just Kidding About the Whole Name Change Thing

"But if you still wanna call me Love, you can call me Love, baby."

Yesterday we reported that the artist formerly known as Diddy had changed his name to Brother Love. We reported this, because that is what he said was happening. However, it seems that we at Noisey need to learn about a little concept called: humor. Because Diddy was joking. He is not called Brother Love at all. He is just called Diddy. OK.

In a new Instagram video captioned "I see you can't play with the internet," he informs us:

Due to overwhelming response from the media out there and just due to there not wanting to be any confusion: I was only joking. I didn't change my name. It's just one of my alter egos. One of my alter egos is 'Love.' But to set the record straight, because I have a lot of press to do the next couple of weeks, you can address me by any of my older names. But if you still wanna call me Love, you can call me Love, baby. But I was only playin'!

Everything makes sense now. Even though literally days ago he said "I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy, or any of my other monikers." Glad we got that cleared up.
