We Streamed This Week's Big Releases: 'Shadow of War,' 'Evil Within 2'

One of them is exactly what we were expecting (and not in a good way), while another took us completely by surprise.

Video games are about to get wild in the next few weeks y'all. They haven't really let up since 2017 started, but if you were already behind on games, it's not about to get any easier, with both Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and The Evil Within 2 launching this week. Waypoint's going to be doing a lot more streaming in the coming weeks, and to kick things off, we took a both of 'em.

I played nearly three hours of The Evil Within 2, a game I didn't have high expectations for. But when confronted with a game that fixes many of the trial-and-error problems of the original and drops it into a cool semi-open world, I'm suddenly way more interested in playing more of The Evil Within 2:

For Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, we pulled off some technological magic, and found a way for Austin to be playing in New York, while I'm watching from Chicago. It seemed to work pretty well, so look forward to more digital collaborations in the future. (Don't get your hopes up for more Shadow of War streams though. Austin seems pretty down on it.)

(We're still working on YouTube archives, which will be fixed soon. Promise. It's harder than it sounds, for reasons that are boring and not worth getting into, but we hear you.)
