If you grew up on Eminem’s early albums, you were likely familiar with his manager (and Shady Records co-founder) Paul Rosenberg through cartoonish, morbid skits in which Rosenberg would chastise Slim Shady for, among other grievances, “waving [his] fucking gun around in the studio parking lot.” Variety reports that Rosenberg, who’s also managed blink-182, Danny Brown, and Action Bronson, is being named to a “top executive position” at Def Jam Records.
HitsDailyDouble says that Rosenberg starts in January 2018. Current head Steve Bartels will stay on until then. Def Jam was previously run by L.A. Reid and Lyor Cohen (who founded 300 Entertainment).
