Allie Hanlon is the pony-tailed, gum-chewing mastermind behind internationally adored pop-punk outfit Peach Kelli Pop. Taking equally-sized cues from K-pop and hardcore, Hanlon’s infectious melodies bring a lovely pop sound to Danzig-era speedballs. Oft misunderstood and incorrectly categorized as “bubblegum” or “girly,” the genius of PKP is in Hanlon’s subversive formula of playful hooks and blazing punk rock beats. Today, the LA-based band has dropped a kaleidoscopic new video for the single “Heart Eyes,” a song off last year’s LP titled III. The music video was made and directed by the all-female film collective Shevil and follows the group as they charm a jaded punk rocker into joining their girl gang.
