Immerze Actually Meets Jesus in "Ying Ying" Video

A much more peaceful encounter with the Lord than DMX had.

Hip-hop and Christianity are longtime bedfellows… with enough room left for the Holy Spirit, of course. Also finding time for Jesus is Vancouver rapper Immerze, who interacts with the man Himself in his video for new cut "Ying Ying." The clip begins with a Christ figure helping Immerze up from an alley floor, which may be the reason that the rapper's flow throughout the song sounds like he's hopping across water.

"This record is just me meditating out loud," Immerze told Noisey over email. "I'm speaking my intentions into existence through this music, which is ultimately about wanting to spread good positive vibes and do good for my people. In a way, that mindset is parallel to what Christians have been taught about Jesus - not everyone took may take in this message, but for those who believe in higher powers, you know the real deal."
