With her debut full-length album due out next month, RYAN Playground's keeping busy in the meantime, with a recent cover of Kendrick Lamar's "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe," a show at Montreal's Igloofest this upcoming weekend, and an exclusive NORTHMIX for THUMP.
"Most of the tracks talk about my girlfriend and the different emotions I go through," says the Montreal native of Elle, the LP that will be released February 24 on Ryan Hemsworth's Secret Songs. Her NORTHMIX features tracks from the likes of Kanye West, Mura Masa, Hudson Mohawke, and Yung Lean.

"It's a little more quiet and a little more relaxed than what I'll play at Igloofest," she says, which should provide some interesting contrast for when she hits the stage opening for two of the lineup's most anticipated artists, Lunice and Bonobo.
"People really forget about anything except where they are at the moment," says Playground of the winter event series, a celebration she has attended many times as an audience member. "That's why I really like it, and that's how I feel too."
