Up close, WECOMEINPEACE's new light installation, Njörd, is a museum-like group of glass display cases that waft hundreds of feathers on an artificial breeze. Seen from afar, they become illuminated monoliths in a 26-point music visualization, each case flashing in time to the music with the same grace as the floating feathers. The glass cases illuminate the entire courtyard of Lyon's City Hall with each bump and beat of Squeaky Lobster's backing music.

From atomic elements to urban geography, WECOMEINPEACE often draws inspiration from the environment. Njörd is no exception, taking its name from the Scandanavian god of wind. The title also references its Nordic design influences, as evidenced by the installation's simple, no-frills elegance. Computers synchronize the simple elements of glass, feathers, wind, lights, and music to create what the makers call a "mysterious landscape between mythologic scenery and modern space design."
