Bass Clef Resurrects Iberian Records

Check out a bouncing bonus track from the Lisbon outpost's new compilation.

After a two-year hiatus, Lisbon outpost Iberian Records returned a few weeks ago. Its first release since its resurrection was Tax Haven 3, a compilation featuring cuts from Portuguese duo Photonz, Barcelona native Cauto, mysterious upstart Nino, and London's Bass Clef (aka Ralph Cumbers). Cumbers, a synth aficionado who runs his own cassette label called Magic + Dreams, contributed two tracks to the record, and the imprint has offered up a third, "Love At Last Sight," as a digital-only bonus download. Pitched vocal yelps cut up over rubbery beats, a prickling arpeggiated melody, and synth zaps.
