In a recent interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, portrait artist Nelson Shanks claims to have snuck in a reference to Bill Clinton's tryst when painting the former president. Shanks called the president "the most famous liar of all time" and claims to have painted the shadow of a blue dress on a mannequin falling across a mantle next to where Clinton stands in the portrait. Lewinsky's blue dress became a central piece of the Clinton scandal, and the painting's shadow "represents a shadow on the office he held," according to Shanks. This isn't the only time Monica's been in the news lately—New York filmmaker Doron Max Hagay recently released a six-part online miniseries based on Lewinsky's life post-scandal.You can see Shanks's painting of Clinton over at the Inquirer.1.
