Instead, they've mostly just been cooking up increasingly more absurd gimmicks to get people in the door.There was McDonald's beat-making placemats and 18-karat gold chicken nuggets, Taco Bell's foray into alcoholic beverages, and the invention of so-called stunt foods like Burger King's Whopperito.Even Pizza Hut—the classiest of pizza joints—hasn't been immune from this type of gimmickry. It's sold pizza in a box that could double as a movie projector, and now it has really #pumpedupthevolume by creating a playable pizza-box turntable, Exclaim reports.The battery-powered box is actually pretty advanced. There's a mixer, a crossfader, two turntables, and effects. It can even connect to a phone or laptop via Bluetooth, and it is compatible with DJ software.
