ITALY - A YEAR AT TIGROS

Italian lotteries are known for being big payers—last month some lucky duck brought home 148 million Euros, or, at current exchange rates like 300 trillion US dollars, on a single win. So when a supermarket announced its new lottery, we figured it'd mean enough spaghetti and meatballs to feed an average Italian nuclear family of 16 for the rest of their lives. But no, this one, if you win it… you get a job. At that grocery store. For only a year. How fucking depressing. Included in the prize is an interim training course for the position of supermarket manager. The image above is the official advert for this shit. The winner's speech bubble says, "I went shopping and I found a job!" So now, winning is for losers.
