Alex Wiley is a rapper out of Chicago that wants to take you on a real wild trip. Recently, he dropped a new record Village Party 2: Heaven’s Gate that exemplifies the relaxing, smooth tracks that will put any sucker into a good mood. He’s made a video for one of the tracks, “For Sunny” featuring the influence of Hippie Sabotage. The video is on a kind of woodcut printing trip; images of Alex Wiley himself appear from time to time on the mahogany background, changing etchings at a moment’s notice. It gets ultra trippy, two dimensional images gaining and lessening depth at the turn of a dime. The free-form nature of the video moves in step with “For Sunny,” capturing Wiley’s keen instincts of smooth jams.
