SAN FRANCISCO - GOLDEN TRIANGLE PHOTO UPDATE IV

OJ again. Thanks to the 4211 people who contributed to the Golden Triangle Road Fund through paypal. An hour after posting the button we'd made $156 and went to bed thinking "Fuck yeah! Transmission paid for." We woke up to find out we got waaaaay more than expected from folks all across the country who wanted us to make it to their town, van intact. The only show we ended up missing was Phoenix, although that was a bummer because someone had a bag of shrooms waiting for us there.

Last night we played the Echo in LA. Don Bolles, famous for drumming in the Germs and 45 Grave--not so famous for being in the Fancy Space People--came by the show and hung out.

I asked him what he had in the little lunch box he was carrying around. Oh you know, the usual stuff: a bunch of CDs, a toothbrush, a Mossimo wallet, weed pipe sans weed, a small green jar of health (algae?) powder, and a tube of denture glue.

Pretty sure it's algae.

Devin the Dude has been stalking us at our last few shows. So far he's still a couple days behind us, but he could close that gap at any minute.

Uhp.

Our West Coast fans are evidently guys who are really into 80s Vivienne Westwood gear and Johnny Ramone hair.

In San Diego we played with this rad band Christmas Island. There was actually a fanatic at one of our Austin shows who had a Christmas Island tattoo on his leg and was stoked to see them on our bill. At one point I thought they were doing a cover of some song I couldn't place, but it turns out I've just had a Christmas Island track on my ipod for a few months. According to their singer Brian, they've got a record on In The Red coming out pretty soon. Y'all should check them out.

By the way, if you're ever in Tucson you should stop by the Hotel Congress and hang out with Tiger. He's been bartending there for 50 years and knows everything about the hotel, which, if you're a crime nerd, you might recognize as the place where Dillinger and his gang got driven out of their rooms by a fire, and the responding firemen found all their recent stealings.
