Aussie Moto GP Boss Jack ‘Jackass’ Miller Has Broken His Back And Wrist In A Horror Crash

The 21-year-old looks set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines after a serious crash at the Austrian Grand Prix.

Aussie MotoGP rider Jack Miller missed last night's Austrian Grand Prix, after breaking his back in a crash during warm-up. He is now expected spend a lengthy stint on the sidelines.

Miller won the Dutch TT in June, but was brought crashing back to earth last night after a high-speed crash in the morning warm-up saw him exit the infield section, before being thrown through the gravel trap like a ragdoll. After being stretchered away, Miller was later diagnosed with hairline fractures to his T6 vertebra and right wrist.

Bizarrely, Miller was still seen walking around on the grid before the race later in the day. He is now 13th on the leaders board and likely to miss next weekend's Czech Grand Prix, with his Marc VDS team giving him until Wednesday to determine whether he'll race or not.

Miller headed to Austria with a rare clean bill of health following a rough start to 2016. He broke the tibia and fibula in his right leg in a motocross training fall in February, before re-injuring his leg in a crash before the April MotoGP in Austin, Texas.

Miller captured the imagination of revheads around the world when he cut through the field in June's soggy Dutch TT and celebrating with a shoey of Moët on the podium.
