Watch the Trailer for Netflix’s Chilling New Doc on The Man Who Transformed Trump

‘Get Me Roger Stone’ is a look at one of Washington’s most controversial kingmakers.

Get Me Roger Stone
If you're not familiar with veteran Republican shit disturber Roger Stone, you should be. He's one of the GOP's loudest, most reviled strategists. In fact, President Trump's Twitter presence is second only in outrageousness to Stone's. In this new Netflix documentary, directors Dylan Bank, Daniel DiMauro, and Morgan Pehme explore the inner workings of the man who transformed Donald Trump into a political power player. It's hard not to feel antipathy for a figure who even in this brief trailer seems to have so much animus for the American political system, but as Stone himself says in the doc, "I revel in your hatred." This will be a must-watch for anyone obsessed with modern democracy.

IT
It feels like the anticipation for this horror classic remake has been building forever. Things came to a head last summer when New Line, the studio behind the new IT movie, was accused of being behind a spate of creepy clown sightings across North America. New Line denied any involvement but it certainly put the fear of clowns back on the front burner for kids and grown-up kids familiar with the original Pennywise played by Tim Curry. Unfortunately for True Detective fans, Cary Fukunaga, who worked on the script for the remake and was slated to direct, walked away from the project last year over creative differences. While we won't get the celebrated director's dark reimagining of IT, this version still has the appeal of a big-money franchise that will have you avoiding sewer entrances for another decade or so.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
God bless Frances McDormand. She truly is one of the best actors of our time, dominating the screen in any role she's given. Here she plays the pissed off mother of a missing girl, who forces action from the local police by taking out three provocative billboards on the outskirts of town. The billboards catch the attention of the town's residents, who quickly turn on McDormand. Woody Harrelson plays the local sheriff frustrated with McDormand's signs, but reluctantly spurred into action. Sam Rockwell, Peter Dinklage and Lucas Hedges round out the powerhouse cast. In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths' Martin McDonagh directs.

A Ghost Story
I know this is supposed to be a poignant, moving portrayal of relationships and the enormity of time but I can't stop laughing at the sheet ghost that follows this annoying couple around their house. I get it, I get it, the ghost is a metaphor but also LOL. I just can't take Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara emoting to each other set to some maudlin indie rock in the shadow of a fucking SHEET GHOST seriously. Give this ghost an Oscar because he (?) has my full attention.
