Not to namedrop or anything, but if we told you we were premiering a track that has big support from Steve Lawler, Nicole Moudaber, Davide Squillace, Richy Ahmed and that Marco Carola had dropped on New Year's Eve, would we have your attention?Well here it is: "Ubahn" by Eddy M, one of Europe's freshest faces on the tech-house scene. Currently based in Barcelona, the 22-year-old Italian native started studying music at the age of 14 at Palermo, Sicily's distinguished Brass Group. And after four years of following his passion there and diving deeper into the world of melodies, in 2011, Eddy jumped two feet into the world of techno and tech-house production, as well as DJing. This new endeavour quickly led to "Cowbell Talk" on SK Supreme Records with mentor―and influential tech-house tastemaker―Sabb, a blazing collaboration that took the summer of 2012 by storm. It was the jam that first opened the ears of the techno industry's elite to Eddy M, and in the years since, they haven't stopped listening.Eddy M is looking to do similar damage in 2015. His conquest is off to a promising start with "Ubahn", which officially drops February 2 on the UK's rising Electronique label with remixes from Okain and Christian Nielsen."The story of this track is really strange," Eddy tells THUMP. "After a night of skateboarding in Barcelona, I felt so inspired and full of energy that I decided to hit my studio to create something." Just two hours later, his groove was ready. "The kick and bassline were perfect. And the minimal samples, claps and hi-hats―they sounded really good too." Yet to that point, Eddy admits the beat still lacked an underground sound.Fortunately, in his computer he found some recordings done with his band in Sicily during an old jam session. There were guitar riffs, vocal samples, funky drum loops and basslines. After tinkering around with it until sunrise, he found the perfect rhythm for the single, which utilized all those instruments and amplify them by including an analog bass and choir."Finally I was satisfied… [laughs] but really tired also! So I went to sleep waiting for the next day to begin my next speciality: A flawless mastering for an incredible track."Eddy M is on: Facebook // SoundCloud //BeatportElectronique UK is on: Twitter // Facebook // SoundCloud//BeatportYou can follow Christopher on Twitter at: @theCMprogram
