Decibel Founder Sean Horton's "Top 50 Albums" List Is Amazing

Hear Sean Horton's Favorite Singles and Records. Relive 2015 all over again.

The holidays are a time for reflection. They're also a time for every music outlet on Earth to offer up endless best of the year lists, this outlet included. But its not just the media that gets involved, as Decibel Festival founder and recent LA transplant Sean Horton recently took time to post his own list on Facebook Notes (remember those!) Curated as well as his annual Seattle-based electronic music event, Horton's list calls out plenty of popular faves (Jamie XX, Bob Moses), critical darlings (Floating Points, Maribou States), underground staples (John Tejada, Kerrier District) and outlier artists (Dasha Rush, Rival Consoles). He also doesn't stick to any particular style, giving props to non-Decibel-style acts like Alabama Shakes, Father John Misty and Tame Impala.

Sure, he puts Kendrick Lamar in the #1 spot just like a lot of other people did, but you'd still be hard-pressed to find a more thoughtful list to wrap up 2015. And that's not to mention the Best Singles Spotify Playlist, which is where the good electronic music really goes.

Decibel wraps up its 2015 events with freshly-minted OSWLA star Mija playing Seattle this Saturday. Decibel Festival will be back in Seattle next fall, and all the rumors point towards a Decibel LA coming in the not too distant future.
