You’ve gotta hand it to Japan: Even in the wake of a record-shattering natural disaster and subsequent radiation scare, they’re not only getting stuff done but managing to keep a sense of humor about it. Potty humor, to be exact. The situation concerning the island nation’s post-earthquake nuclear facilities is eliciting all kinds of nervous speculation and bogus data from news media and the concerned citizens of the Internet (this bullshit diagram comes firmly to mind). But as the video above demonstrates, Japan’s Fukushima reactor hasn’t dropped a deuce. It’s just … y’know … stunk up the place a tiny bit.The faecal discharge analogy isn’t without purpose, however. The weird animation provides a fairly effective explanation for kids on how nuclear leaks are dealt with in the modern day. Not to mention a teensy bit of historical context to explain how badly we’re freaking ourselves out (more on that here). That’s not to say that nuclear is completely non-threatening. After all, we’re gonna run out of places to put Nuclear Boy’s stinky diapers eventually. Better start moving to space. Or investing in solar.
